So What Do We Think of the Snow Removal ?

What the hell is up with the plowing of the streets? I really think you need to find someone else to do the job! On your flyers you want to remind people to pay dues which are used for seasonal plowing and such but if this is the kind of job they do I can understand why you have so much trouble collecting. If it wasn't for your vice president plowing for FREE, these streets would still be a mess.

Who is our plow guy? The one in the red truck? Or the one in the white truck? The white truck doesn't seem to know what he is doing and the guy in the red truck does a great job! I hope the civic club didn't pay for the white truck.

I hope that we are not paying the guy driving the white truck for snow removal. The guy in the red truck seems to know his business and cleans the streets much better. If the white truck snow removal is what I pay dues for then i would rather not pay them. Is the guy in the red truck the Vice President? I see the truck in here all the time.

You know instead of funding activities like halloween partys and some of the other crap, take some of the dues money and have the half ass plow dude spread a little salt after he so calls plows. These streets stay iced over for days after. Hope we don't get any more snow if this is the kind of job we can expect.

I want the vice president to plow brookland terrace at least he gets the streets clean! My neighbor asked him to plow his driveway and he didnt even charge him to do it. Thank you Phil for all the plow help!

Who hired the plow guy? Have they ever plowed snow before? And why are we not paying the vp for what he has done? Maybe he should plow the terrace not the other clown.

I just came home from work when i entered the neighborhood the amount of ice that's on the streets i almost slid into a parked car. Why wasn't the streets cleaned up better? You ask for people to park off the street to be able to get the streets clean. I really don't see that the plow guy did a good job. I asked phil to come plow infront of my house and he got it to the pavment! Why cant the plow co. do that?

THIS PLOW JOB SUCKS as DID THE OTHER YEAR

IT IS TIME TO ELECT A NEW PRESIDENT THAT WILL NOT SPEND THERE TIME or MONEY ON GRAFFII THATS NOT IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.THIS IS BROOKLAND TERRACE CIVIC CLUB NOT DELAWARES CLEAN-UP CLUB.IT STARTED OUT FOR A GOOD CAUSE BUT THEY HAVE LOST THERE WAY ONCE THEY WENT OUTSIDE THE TERRACE!!!

The $200 that was used to rent Marbrook for the christmas party that by the way WAS NOT told to the WHOLE terrace could have been used for a better plow guy or salt .That was the Neighborhoods money but only a SMALL amount of people were told about the party.I agree with the other guy about the graffiti part. All that time spent going ALL AROUND DELAWARE could have been time used for OUR NEIGHBORHOOD needs, but when they took grant money now they have to do what they are told to clean-up.That should have NEVER BEEN MIXED IN WITH THE TERRACE FUNDS.

I'll say it was late.I had to go to work at 7am but the roads were not plowed untill 8am.

It snowed on wednesday today is saturday and still most of the streets are snow and ice covered. When are you going to do something about it? Who ever hired the snow plow contractor needs to step down. We need to have somebody who knows about snow removal find us a contractor who can handle the job. There a few people living in here who have snow plows get them involved on finding a contactor to do our snow plowing. I see there is one of our residents who help out with the plowing don't know his name but has a red and brown truck. Ive seen him helping with the snow clean up. Is he getting paid? Granted the civic club has made good effort in getting all of up together with the different events but we need to put more effort into snow plowing.

After last year you would think that this would not happen again. That was a waste of the Terrace money.

Maybe it's time for new leadership. Someone to look out for brookland terrace not cleaning up graffiti.

Cleaning up the graffiti in the terrace is one thing. But when it goes outside of it that should be the COUNTY cleaning that not the terrace.

There's a easy way to fix it.I would only pay 50% now and the other 50 when it was done right. Why would you pay someone 100% BEFORE they started the job. DUHHH!

To the residents of Brookland Terrace:

First off -- if you have a real complaint about anything, be fair enough to put your name to it. As far as I know, anybody from anywhere could have posted the ridiculous complaints I have read on the blog. Secondly, the "guy in the white truck" was plowing my street prior to 6 am the day following the snow. Thirdly, it's difficult to plow around cars parked on the street. Thirdly, even the main thoroughfares would be ice-covered even after being plowed without the heavy traffice that they carry. (I don't believe any of us want that kind of traffic through our neighborhood.)

As for the graffiti -- the Brookland Terrace Civic Club has not contributed one single dime to the cost of removing graffiti. Not even in Brookland Terrace, let alone in areas outside the Terrace. That has all been financed by contributions from organizations from other areas.
The credit the Brookland Terrace Civic Club gets for graffiti eradication only enhances the reputation of the Terrace residents. The fact that Chuck Stirk works with youth who are doing "community service" also enhances our reputation as a community organization.

I can assure you that not one cent of your dues has been spent on graffiti eradication anywhere.

Treasurer, Brookland Terrace Civic Club

Of course your area got plowed early, your the Treasurer of Brookland Terrace that pays them. And by the way when did the Terrace start taking money from others to finance us from other organizations from other areas?Thats when things start getting in gray area.As for getting credit, I didn't know that we needed any to inpress anyone. The onle people that you need to enhance our reputation as a community organization is the members of Brookland Terrace.

The credit and Awards might look pretty on walls and to brag about but how did that help clean up the roads. And as for asking for names Why do you want that? So you can talk about them at your meetings or behind there back! This is the feedback the Terrace asked for but your mad it's not what you wanted to hear.Sometimes the truth hurts

Someone hit the nail right on the head. This is for feedback and asking for names is Wrong!.It shows you want to make it personal and not about the topic. If my name was FRED how would that make it any different? Also thanks for not telling anybody about the meeting in November that No flyers or the sign wasn't put up.I would have been there if I was properly notified like all Brookland Terrace Homeowners should have been.I found out afterward about it.I understand only a handful showed up at it and you wonder why?

It's saturday jan 22 and still icy out. Hillside ave (700 block) never gets plowed. You always forget about us. And when you do remember, you give us one path and dump the snow on my driveway that I have to shovel out myself.

I refuse to pay you $ for plowing. Make it $20 and I'll pay for a better person, whose timely, comes often, and salts.

Not even the streets in the city are this bad!

As for the grafitti project: no, our terrace money doesn't pay a dime of the project. However, time is money. So all the time that we spend fixing graffiti should be spent in the neighborhood preventing crime and making sure residents keep their houses orderly and in good shape to make the neighborhood appear nice. Parts of it are run down and need to be addressed because it's embarrassing. Isn't that the same idea as fixing grafitti?

Focus on your own needs first, then serve others outside the community. When our needs are fixed then we can help others.
