"You need to send out news letters like they used to do as you don't have all the terrace e-mail addresses and alot of people in the terrace don't have the internet, not everyone can afford it.Also don't wait until a week before it to tell us as some people have to fit it in there busy life. We have NOT seen a news letter in a VERY LONG TIME.Thats how you get to MORE people rather than put it on a blog and HOPE that they see it.Also make sure that they go to ALL the homes and just not some as in the past."
Yes , It has to be a balance of all seven Newsletters , Signs , E-mail , Blog , Facebook , Phone Calls & Word of Mouth

So it has been 30 or more years since the civic club did a monthly news letter & the total cost of the newsletter was donated at the time .

It has been November since the last flyer ... We try to do about four newsletters a year .
Though over the past few years it has been a bit more then four a year with several half flyers for additional events .

We have worked on sorting out when best to distribute the flyers .
Anything earlier then two weeks is to early , Anything less then a week is two late .
We try to distribute newsletters to Block Captains about two weeks ahead of the meeting so they can deliver to homes in this time frame .
Many Thanks go out to Laura & Derek , Steve , William , Elsie , Sharon & the girls , Jammie , Melissa , Zack , Missy and the clan , Phil ,Chuck , Dijon as well as Ryan who all passed out the February newsletters .
Phil has done a great job getting enthusiastic Block Captains that deliver the flyers quickly.

No we don't have all the emails & no not everyone uses internet .
We do have 179 people from Brookland Terrace on the general B.T.C.C. email list .
We also do additional distribution of the general B.T.C.C. email list to other civic groups in the area to police as well as other state & county workers & elected officials as well .

We do get on average around 500 visitors to the blog monthly , frankly this is a lot more traffic then we would have expected . BTCC Blog usage seems to be trending up and comments on the blog are trending way up .
This is happening for the BTCC Blog even as over all blog usage on the internet is trending down with the shift to other types of social media .
There are only 31 people on the one BTCC Facebook group & in addition more people who follow via our other BTCC Facebook pages , Facebook in general hits a much younger demographic for us .
In addition we also do reminder phone calls 25 or more people before a meeting .
Word of Mouth is our best outlet but sorting out how many neighbors talk to other neighbors is nearly impossible .
Again we assume Word of Mouth trumps all of the above .

You need to check your facts before you say things.It has Not been 30 or more years since our last newsletter.In 2005 our last Civic Club President Susan did a newsletter.Also I don't agree that word of mouth trumps all.You know what they say about people that ASSuME!!!
