Subject: DelDOT - Prices Corner Interchange Lighting

Good morning,
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will upgrade the roadway lighting at the Prices Corner interchange in New Castle County. The lighting will be upgraded along SR 2 (Kirkwood Highway) from Albertson Boulevard to Roselawn Ave and along SR 141 from N. Woodward Avenue to the bridge crossing over the railroad. All the on and off ramps within the project limits for both roadways will also have upgraded lighting. We currently anticipate this work will begin late spring.

The old system is failing and in need of frequent repair. This need for constant repair will be eliminated, as the old lighting system will be replaced with a new lighting system. This new lighting system consists of new energy efficient LED fixtures and poles. The new lighting system will provide a uniformly lit interchange for users. In addition, the existing median lighting is structurally deficient and will be removed completely and will be replaced with new lighting along the side of the roadway. The lighting control system will also be updated. This new lighting design will improve safety for users and bring the lighting system at the Prices Corner Interchange up to today’s standards.

Please let us know if you need more information.
