I recognize that spot . . . eastern end of “unpaved” Brookland Ave . . . at the foot of the “hill” that used to be one of the favorite sled runs. Not Woodward Ave, but Walnut Ave?
Thanks for the pic .. nice flashback memories. Not just the sledding. Even of a day spent with 3 Crowleys (Dave, Paul & Steve), Bobby Giroud, Lester ? .. and a couple others along the curve of the creekbed right there . . . must’ve been 7, maybe 8 . . . throwing cane stalks like spears and pretending to be Roman soldiers.
