The above images are illustrative Art not proposed plans .

The odd parProposed Plans NCC Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration Project .

We can not fathem why there would be NINE Proposed Plans NCC Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration Project over multiple years and not one bit of  sharing of these plans with the community ,   nor request for feed back & discussion  from the community regarding Proposed Plans NCC Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration Project .

After extensive  discution with those in attendance  of the 20 May New Castle County Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration / NCC Woodland Run Park Comunity meeting

What we walked away from the Meeting Impression wise or feeling about the RKK Proposed Plans for New Castle County Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration / NCC Woodland Run Park

-The Greenbank Mill is a lovely location for a gathering

- RKK did a very nice presentation but some what lacking in detail .

As communities effected understand it now …...

- There is going to be a 90’ Swath of swale & creek bed cut  from Faulkland Road to 141

- This would some what deforest NCC Woodland Run Park as roughly illustrated in the above maps with aproxamat 90’ swaths illustrated .

THERE WOULD BE NO PARK LEFT AT NCC Woodland Run Park !

- The Comunities that use the NCC Woodland Run Park  would be left with deforested drainage ditch  with un shaded walking paths .

Of Note ::  Since December 2019 to May 2024  300+ Standing Deadwood / Downed Deadwood Ash bore effected trees have been removed from NCC Woodland Run Park , Trees Forest shade all have become slightly more valuable to the community

- As far as ecology aquatic wildlife habitat Flora & Fauna -

"we have found it tends to come Back “

was RKK answer

I will spare you the full list but we have gotten used to living with Frogs , Toads , Fish , Crayfish , Snakes , Snails, Mice , Moles , Voles Deer , Foxes , Raccoons ,Possums  ,Squirrels, Chipmunks , Groundhogs , Coyotes  with more than 80 Species Of Birds Including Hawks, Herring Cranes , Turkeys , Eagles , & the  Beaver Named Duncan Wood.

We have grown quite accustomed and come to appreciate living amongst the wildlife we would hate to see it, disturbed in such a drastic fashion unnecessarily.

New Castle County Woodland Run Park & the  Little Mill Creek is currently a functional ecosystem a Riparian zone  we would hate to see this destroyed.

I am sure withe the inclusion of the community in the process we can come up with a plan for the New Castle County Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration in NCC Woodland Run Park

Unfortunately it does not seem that the above proposed plan presented on 20 May by RKK will receive the support from the community.

We look forward to developing a new plan for New Castle County Little Mill Creek Stream Restoration / NCC Woodland Run Park  with community support moving forward.

Your attention in these matters are much appreciated  .

Feel free too reach out 302-463-2239 with any questions or clarification
