Armed Robbery at Local Convenience Store
New Castle County Police are presently investigating an armed robbery
involving two male victims (32/52) who were accosted at gunpoint and
robbed, while they were working at a 7-11 convenience store in
Wilmington, DE.
On Tuesday
night (01/01) at 11:56 p.m., County Police responded to the 1900 block
of Centerville Road in the community of Albertson Park for a reported
robbery that just occurred. When officers arrived, they contacted the
male employees who reported that two unknown male subjects had entered
the store and robbed them at gunpoint.
The investigation has
revealed that both suspects reportedly entered the store and walked
toward the employees as one of them displayed a handgun. The suspects
then stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot northbound on
Centerville Road. Assisting officers and a police canine team responded
and canvassed the area, but were unsuccessful in their efforts of
locating the suspects.
The suspects were described as:
• a black male, 6’2” tall, weighing 180 pounds, and was wearing dark
colored clothing, who had his face concealed and was armed with a
handgun.
• an unknown male, 6’2” tall, weighing 180 pounds, who was
wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, sneakers and had his face
concealed.
