Del-Dot was this intersection specifically designed to kill pedestrians ?
The Current signals situation at Centerville @ Greenbank simultaneous pedestrian Lighting signals & turning arrow traffic signals would indicate this intersection was specifically designed to have vehicles impact pedestrians .
On the the way to and back from a community meeting this past Thursday Evening ( 16 Nov 2023 ) multiple dangerous road condition were observed At Centerville @ Greenbank / ( Greenbank - Centre - Ferris )Road & Old Capital Trail @ Centerville RD .
Centerville @ Greenbank At two pedestrian crosswalks both North & East when the Blinking White Walk Signal safe to proceed - the Green Arrow signal for traffic to process was simultaneously observed .
The signal at the Centerville @ Greenbank Signals direct turning traffic into the pedestrian cross walk who also have the Safe to proceed Signal Lights in three directions at the intersection .
The dangerous situation for pedestrian is exasperated by the lack of ANY Lighting at the Centerville @ Greenbank / ( Greenbank - Centre - Ferris )Road as well as on Centerville North of Old Capital Trail to The Bridge BR1-604 under RT2
So as a driver YOU CAN NOT see the pedestrians you are being guided by a BLINKING GREEN ARROW SIGNALS TO impact pedestrianism the crosswalk who simultaneously guided to proceed through the crosswalk by the BLINKING WHITE WALK SIGNAL .
We observed or avoided at least six pedestrians All Most Impacted in one round trip through these two intersections .
It is a miracle there haven’t been more fatalities on this section of Centerville Road
What can be done about the unsafe signals conditions at Centerville @ Greenbank ?
As well as the lighting void situation at Centerville @ Greenbank as well as Centerville North of Old Capital Trail to BR1-604 .
I was under the impression that there was a intersection improvement plan for Greenbank at Centerville how soon can we expect this plan to be implemented ?
What can be done to Improve the ABOMINABLE LIGHTING CONDITIONS IN this corridor on Centerville Road as it regards to pedestrian safety .
