9:30 pm, June 24, Ladder 17 was alerted to assist Cranston Heights and
area fire companies on a residential structure fire in the 200 block of
Rhode Island Ave in Brookland Terrace.
Squad 14 arrived to find smoke showing from the eaves.
Ladder 17 arrived and was assigned to Ladder the roof and handle outside ventilation. E17 arrived as the third due engine and assumed the RIT duties. Crews held the fire to its area of origin and units were on the scene for about an hour.
The state Fire Marshall was on scene to investigate the cause.
Mill Creek, Elsmere, Minquas, Belvedere, Hockessin and Five Points Fire Companies all responded to assist Cranston Heights Fire Company.
