Elsmere/Wilmington -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that starting on Friday, January 17, traffic will be reduced to one lane of traffic eastbound and westbound on Route 2/South Union Street from Route 100 to Sycamore Street through mid-December 2014 for pavement replacement.
The pavement replacement project will consist of the removal and replacement of the concrete roadway on Route 2/South Union Street from the railroad bridge, just east of Route 100 in Elsmere to Sycamore Street in Wilmington. The contractor for these improvements is A-Del Construction Company, Inc.
Access to all businesses and residences within the project limits will be maintained throughout the duration of this contract.
Message boards are posted for motorists for the upcoming lane restriction. The contractor may also work on Saturdays, if needed.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and expect delays.
