County Police remind citizens’ that is extremely important for residents to continually secure their vehicles and to remove any valuable items from their automobile. If you feel compelled to keep property inside of your vehicle, then we urge you to take the necessary precaution and keep the items out of plain view or place them in your trunk.  Police urge the public to take responsibility in locking your car doors so that these crimes of opportunity subside, which will lead to fewer people becoming victimized.

The greatest protections thieves have are when citizens inadvertently forget to take simple crime prevention measures such as locking your car and securing valuables. If you are a victim of these types of crimes, the police need to be called after every instance. These reports are valuable to not only helping police solve the crimes and return the property to its owners, but also in guiding the police in their patrol initiatives.
