Initially the Department will move forward to install NO STOPPING STANDING OR PARKING signs before the school year starts near the crosswalk and bus stop on Centerville Road, across from the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue. This focuses on the safety of students crossing the roadway and reduces potential conflicts between cars and buses during car pool hours. We agree that it would be safer for students to be dropped off and picked up in the school parking lot and we trust this message will again be given at meetings at the beginning of the school year.
We will observe traffic operations after the school year starts to determine if further parking restrictions are needed.
